Stop Managing, Start Coaching

Start Coaching

“Training managers to think and act like coaches is the single most important talent initiative that all organizations should be working on.” — Gallup’s State of the American Workplace report

Think about the worst manager you’ve ever had. They were likely controlling and abrasive, and didn’t give much constructive feedback. Now picture the best manager you’ve ever had. They saw potential in you, cared about you as a person and gave you consistent feedback while challenging and empowering you to move to the next level.

Research shows that this coaching style is the absolute most effective method of management, in terms of both employee performance and retention.

“Command and control” management is out. Today’s workplace requires managers who engage, inspire and provide regular feedback, instead of just telling employees what to do. By guiding, supporting and encouraging rather than directing, controlling and coercing, employees feel more supported and valued. That leads to employees who are more engaged and accountable, who perform better, think more dynamically—and will stick around a lot longer.

On April 1, join leadership expert Catherine Rymsha for this groundbreaking webinar that will turn your managers into a team of super-coaches. This event is perfect for manager lunch-and-learns or other team activities.
